IMPORTANT: New Grounding Information

Effective IMMEDIATELY, any grounding to hydrants must be done in accordance with the attached (PDF) drawing.

Location Managers are required to submit the attached (Fire Hydrant Grounding Tracking) form to the TFTO providing particulars about the fire hydrant. This form is required to track for possible repairs due to damages resulting from grounding. There is no fee for grounding to hydrants.

The TFTO needs to know the EXACT location of the hydrant used. The best way to identify this information to us is to provide the municipal street address that the fire hydrant is located in front of. If no municipal street address exists, please provide the Street Name; side of street (N/S/E/W) and parameters (Eg. Bay Street E/s between Hagerman and Albert).

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our office, or the City of Toronto.

Please note that this is a temporary policy only. It will be updated and re-sent as soon as possible.
