As we all know, promotion is an important factor in getting your film off the ground and DGC Ontario is thrilled to be able to help.
When you email us with pertinent details, we will post your production and related press materials on our website in the Promoting Our Own Section and we will also send out a link to this promotion in our weekly Guild update e-newsletter.
Some guidelines to help make your promotion all that it can be...
1. Include a video clip, YouTube link or a picture. This makes your listing much more visually interesting than just text. A video clip is the best bet, particularly if the opening shot matches that of the box office poster.
2. Include a synopsis. A good synopsis, like a good pitch, is what draws people into your story. Hook viewers with your intriguing and original plot, setting and characters.
3. Include any relevant links. The great thing about a web listing is that, with one click, you can direct people to your reviews, theatre listings, official website or any other interesting and relevant information.
The fuller and more interesting your promotion, the greater the chance that it will hook viewers.
